Passed away peacefully in the presence and love of her family at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, Barrie, Ontario on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Joanne Johnston (Hartling) of Elmvale, in her 70th year, loved wife of Arnold. Dear mother of Maria (Shawn) Thibault of Fall River, NS and Robert (Carrie-Lynn) of Elmvale. Treasured Nan and Grandma of Riley, Nicholas, Brandon and Zackory. Will be missed by her siblings Thomas (Mel), James (Cathy), Malcolm (Leona), Carl (Darlene) and Violet (George) Mapplebeck and Arnolds siblings, Brian, Bruce, Bill, George, Lola, Linda and Glenda as well as nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Mary Hartling, her sister mary and brother John Joe. Girl Guide and Beaver leader. Volunteer for the Cancer Society and endless volunteering at her children's schools.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Nova Scotia at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of "Joanne" to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
