Passed away peacefully at the Sara Vista Nursing Home on Saturday, January 23, 2016. Margaret Pain (nee Priest) of Elmvale in her 95th year. Pre-deceased by her husband James Edward Pain (1975). Survived by her step-daughter Lillian McKee of St. Jacobs and her family. Pre-deceased by her brothers Walter, Harry and sisters-in-law Grace and Peggy. Survived by brother Fred (Grace) Priest of Barrie and their children, Cathy, Randy, Jimmy, Bonnie, and Michelle. Also fondly remembered by her three nephews, Don, Glen (Toni), and John (Jennie) Priest. She will be missed by her great nieces and nephews, Lori, Tammy, Don Jr, Juanita, Brendan, Emily, Bill, Mark, and Mary.
Margaret and her husband Jim spent their lives building a business at Allenwood Beach where they ran cottages. There she became a member of the community, joining the Allenwood craft group.
Margaret was also an avid member of the St. John's United Church of Elmvale,and the Women's Institute. Every year Margaret would participate in the craft section of the Elmvale Fall Fair where she won many awards for her sewing and knitting. Her family will always cherish her shared recipes, crafts and especially her stories of the past growing up on the homestead farm in Minesing.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Sara Vista Nursing Home for taking such wonderful care over the years and making her last days comfortable.
Vistation will be held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home Elmvale from 11 am - 1 pm on Thursday, January 28. A celebration of Margaret's life will be held on Thursday at 1pm in the chapel.
Spring interment to be held on April 20, 2016 at Minesing Cemetery, where she will be put to rest with her beloved Jim.
Memorial donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Society or St. John's United Church Elmvale would be appreciated.
