Passed away peacefully on February 9th 2015 in her 91st year Born and raised in Toronto by Florence and Jim Wardle, Hilda spent her early years attending Harbord Collegiate and during WW2 working at Adams Furniture. After marriage to Bill Sibthorpe and the birth of their 2 daughters, the family moved to Waverley where Hilda lived for the next 60 years. A lifelong activist Hilda served on the Simcoe County School Board, The Board of Huronia Hospital, as a Councilor and Deputy Reeve of Tiny Township and as president of the Simcoe County Arts and Crafts Association. Hilda was a Master Quilter whose work was seen in numerous exhibitions across Canada including Vancouver’s world Expo ’86. Predeceased by husband Bill, brothers Norman and Jim, and nephew Wes. Well loved by daughters Sharon Fitzsimmins (Jim), Marsha Sibthorpe (Bill), granddaughter Erin Milnes (Jason), nephew Roland Wardle (Gail, Ewan and Connie), and niece Dianne Hale and her many friends and colleagues.
