Passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in his 67th year. George McGinnis, formerly of Elmvale, was the beloved son of the late Mary and Tom McGinnis. Lovingly remembered by his siblings Teresa (Murray) Archer, Tom (Colleen) McGinnis, Tim McGinnis (Anne Rumney), Paul "Rusty" McGinnis, Marianne (Dan) Charlebois. Predeceased by brother Frank and sisters Anna (Cliff) Banash and Kathy (survived by Martin) Marchand. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. George was a proud former member of the Hilltop Hunt Club and the Wilderness Excursion Club and a famous supporter of Elmvale Mets Fastball Team. George made many friendships throughout his life and he danced to the beat of his own drum. He will be fondly remembered by many friends.
A private family graveside memorial service will be held at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Phelpston.
A gathering to celebrate George's life will be held later this year if Covid-19 regulations permit.
