Passed away peacefully in his sleep in his 86th year at Hillcrest Village Care Centre in Midland on January 24, 2021. Stan was married to the love of his life, Jacqueline Metheral, for 61 years. He was the loving Dad of David, Eunice Pandolfi (Robert) Vaillancourt, Bruce (Carolyn), and Denise (Robert) McLean. Devoted Grandpa to Jason, Nicole, Zachary, Emily, Nathaniel, Kaden, and Meghan. Stan is survived by his sister Dollie (late Terry Moulden), the late Grant (survived by Dianne), and Russell (late Lynda). Stan will be sadly missed by his sister-in-laws Marilyn (Allan) Buie and Ada (Wayne) Weatheral. He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Helen “Nellie”, brothers Jack (Mary), Harry (Detta), Allan (Gladys), Ross (Madeline), Isabelle (Lorne Archer) and Barbara. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces and nephews and especially his coffee buddies.
Stan was always invested in his community of Elmvale and family in so many ways. He was a superb hockey player, a faithful Presbyterian Church member and elder, a dedicated firefighter, respected fire captain, a loving husband and loyal brother, and a very successful business person. All of these things were important to him but his investment and pride in his children and grandchildren also provided him great joy over the years. There were many people in our community who had a special relationship with Stan, whether it be someone he helped with a flat tire or someone he stopped to chat with on one of his daily walks.
