Born November 4th 1945 passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Saturday, January 1st 2022. He will be deeply missed by his loving partner of 35 years, Kathie Hamelin and his sister Val Stinson (Dallas). He was a caring stepfather to Vicky, Cyndi (Steve), and Carrie (Mike), adoring grandfather to Taylor, Trevor, Alannah, Ryan, Peyton and Daniel, and great grandfather to Brooke. He will be missed by his many nephews, nieces, friends and coworkers. Many who were close to him knew him as “Skip”. Jim is predeceased by his parents Marguerite Ford (Nicholls) and James Ford of Allenwood Beach and his sister Donna Walker (Dave). Jim will be fondly remembered for his love of adventure and as a versatile entrepreneur with many talents and interests. He was a producer, promoter, publisher and photographer. His commitment to capturing every family memory on film earned him the well-deserved nickname “paparazzi papa”. In addition to his many accomplishments, Jim also had a private pilot license for many years and had a love of flying. He was also extremely passionate about his career as a pharmacist and worked at Whitfield Guardian Pharmacy in Elmvale for over 20 years. Prior to this, he practiced relief pharmacy all over Ontario and as far North as Nunavut. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting Jim would describe him as extremely caring, genuine, and selfless. His true passion, however, was the quality time spent with the love of his life, Kathie, his step daughters and grandchildren; who are left with countless amazing memories of their time with him. He was most happy when surrounded by loved ones watching the sunsets at his family cottage on Woodland Beach.
