NELSON, DONALD ANDREW

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Donald Andrew Nelson (91), of Oro-Medonte, on April 9, 2023

Dad's story started in Northern Ontario with Mom, Iola Nelson (Barr) and Dad, Andy Nelson. The oldest of 13, his siblings Gordon, Ron, Vince, Edgar, Maurice, Cyril, Albert, Laurette, Lorraine, Leona, Germain and Louise were the subject of many of the stories he had of growing up in the north and the hardships overcome.

He lived his life well, and by his terms. Well known in both the stock car racing community and as a valued Ontario Hydro (Hydro One) member he made his mark everywhere. He earned his "Restless One" moniker by always striving to be the best. It is that same spirit he instilled in his children, Donna McFadden (Ron), Darlene Nelson (John), Debra Nelson (John), Dwight Nelson (Michelle) and Dale. He will be missed by Grandchildren Neil, Ryan, David, Brandon, Travis, Hailey, Alannah, Nolan, Abby, Jace, Patty, Jennifer plus numerous Great Grandchildren.

Dad has now joined his Bride, our loving Mom, Dianne, on the other side and he is at peace again. To know that they are together again makes our hearts a little lighter. We will continue to honour and love them. And share stories of them to future generations.

A visitation will be held at Lynn-Stone Funeral Home from 6 - 8 pm on Thursday, April 13th.

Funeral Service in the chapel at the funeral home on Friday at 1 pm.

Private family interment Elmvale Cemetery.
