His many accolades include several awards for his excellence in teaching. He was the Vice President of Education at the Toronto Hospital and Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. His guidance and support of students from medical school to post-graduate fellowship have been long celebrated. All remember the ‘Stone-look’ over his bifocals that molded the medical experts of today. His acumen and support for research shaped medical education and innovation.
Bob’s insight, warmth, sense of humor, empathy, and ability to never lose ‘the common touch’ was what made him the remarkable and special man we love so dearly. His passing leaves an enormous hole in our hearts and he will truly be missed by all who knew him.
