ADAMS, GRACE LILY

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of Rev. Grace Lily Adams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sibling, and friend, who went to be with the Lord on January 27, 2025 at the age of 83.

Grace was the cherished wife of Glen Adams who predeceased her, and loving mother to Barb Barnum, Dawn Dekker (Thomas), Joy Laughland (John), and Tim Adams (Sara). She was a proud grandmother to Jared and Lara (Wes); Marissa (Curtis) and Josiah (Caitlin); Shaun (Marisa) and Emma; Rebecca (Dan), Sophia, Gabriella, Annalia, and Savannah. Grace was the caring daughter of her deceased parents, John and Tynne Spillenaar and the dear sister of Rose Harmer (Bob, deceased), Daniel Spillenaar, and David (Shirley) Spillenaar.

A woman of deep faith and unwavering commitment, Grace dedicated her life to serving others. Her journey in ministry began early, following the example set by her parents, who instilled in her a passion to introduce people to Jesus Christ and guide them in developing personal relationships with God. For many years she served faithfully as a pastor’s wife, an advocate for women’s ministry, and a passionate chaplain.  Later in life, she oversaw a seasonal outdoor church and proudly earned her credentials as an ordained minister with the PAOC. 

One of Grace’s greatest joys was in mentoring and nurturing others to grow in their faith. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or a prayer, she touched countless lives and demonstrated the love of Christ in all that she did. Her legacy is one of compassion, service, and unwavering faith.

A celebration of Grace’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Midland Alliance Church. Visitation will be Friday, February 7, 2025 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The funeral service will be livestreamed and a link will be provided soon.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice Huronia or River of Life Church (you can choose Tithe Fund and add a Memo specifying In Memory of Grace Adams).
