JONES, DONNE

Passed away peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie on Thursday, April 24, 2025.  Donne Jones of Elmvale in her 90^th year.  Sister of the late Rilla (Murray) Waples, Diane (Jim) Bewick, Patsy (Ron) Graham, and David (survived by Myrna) Jones.  Lifelong best friend of the late Patricia Knowles.  Donne will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

Donne worked at Co-Operators Insurance for many years, but enjoyed a long retirement that was almost as long as her career.  She resided in Barrie for many years then moved to Elmvale to be closer to family.  In Elmvale she was very active in the Presbyterian Church, in exercise classes, visiting with friends and connecting with family.  She had a quiet strength and independence, was a thoughtful and patient caregiver to her siblings, and was always ready to have a fun time with those around her.  We will miss the sparkle in her eye, smile on her face and quick wit.

A visitation will be held at the Elmvale Presbyterian Church from 12:30 pm – 2 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.  A memorial service will take place at 2 pm.

Donne loved colour and never wore black, so please wear something colourful on the day.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Elmvale Presbyterian Church.
