Norman died peacefully at his family’s Georgian Bay beach house on January 14th, 2016. Despite roaring waves and ice cold winds, he passed warmly and comfortably weathering his last storm. Like many of Norm’s adventures and challenges, he approached them with integrity, determination, class, and finally grace. He was an admired employee for General Tire in Barrie, Ontario for 34 years. Always wanting to make others’ lives better, he was a blood donor champion. He was recognized in the local paper for giving the gift of life 187 times over the course of 45 years. He donated his 1st pint of blood at the age of 25 at the Masonic Lodge on Collier St. in Barrie. He is survived by his brother David Neely, predeceased by his brother Douglas Neely and his sister Margaret Neely. He will be missed by his wife Sandra, children Randall and Patricia Neely(Calgary) and Dr. Peter and Cheryl Kizoff (Georgian Bay, Tiny) He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed hearing about their adventures as they travelled around the world. Iain (Calgary), Allana (Anguilla), Sarah (recently London, England, now Barrie), Rachel (St.Johns), Jada, and Aaliyah(Coldwater) will miss his warm smile and gentle hugs. Special thanks to the health care team at Mill Creek Care Centre. Donations to the Parkinson’s society and Alzheimer’s Society are welcome. The best gift to Norm would be to donate blood to make someone’s life better. A celebration of his life and his Anglican faith will be planned in May, 2016 on the shores of Georgian Bay.
